This is not a modern car, remember that when you drive home. It’s not a modern car!

These were the previous owner words as we were driving off. And understandably so.

Really quickly we learnt that fuel gauge doesn’t work, so a refuel was the fist order of business. We also learnt that the fuel tank is microscopic (< 40 litres)

He was driving this car on an epic 15 thousand kilometres trips for the previous decade.

And we showed up in a modern family wagon, three young looking guys, one late afternoon to pick up a 40-year-old hardcore off-roader.

This was September 22, 2019.

It took us over an hour to get home and from the perspective of time I know driving on a highway was not the smartest move.

Tires were 10,5" wide old AT on a negative offset wheels with a 35mm spacers. It was ridiculously difficult to keep straight and top speed was 80–90kmh.

But boys approve.

One man struggle to modify a 40-year-old Toyota Land Cruiser BJ42 while other things in life clearly have higher priorities
